Fire & Security Engineer

As a growing organisation, we are seeking a skilled Fire and Security Engineer to join their team. Job Summary: As a Fire and Security Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire and security systems in various commercial and residential properties across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire. You will work closely with their clients to understand their specific requirements and provide effective solutions to meet their fire and security needs. Responsibilities: Install, maintain, and repair fire and security systems, including fire alarms, intruder alarms, access control systems, CCTV, and other related equipment. Conduct thorough assessments of clients' premises to determine the most suitable fire and security solutions. Collaborate with clients to understand their specific needs and provide expert advice and recommendations. Ensure compliance with relevant fire and security regulations and standards. Perform routine maintenance and inspections of fire and security systems to identify any faults or issues and take appropriate actions to resolve them promptly. Respond to emergency callouts and provide timely troubleshooting and repairs to minimize system downtime. Complete accurate documentation, including service reports, installation records, and equipment logs. Keep abreast of industry developments and emerging technologies in fire and security systems to enhance your knowledge and expertise. Provide exceptional customer service and maintain positive relationships with clients and colleagues. Always adhere to health and safety procedures, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and others. Requirements: Proven experience as a Fire and Security Engineer, with a strong background in the installation, maintenance, and repair of fire alarm, intruder alarm, access control, and CCTV systems. Thorough understanding of fire and security regulations, codes, and standards. Proficient knowledge of various fire and security system manufacturers and equipment. Sound technical skills in fault finding, diagnosis, and repairs of fire and security systems. Excellent problem-solving abilities with the capacity to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with clients, colleagues, and suppliers. Ability to work well under pressure and handle emergency situations calmly and efficiently. Flexibility to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends Full driving license Relevant certifications or qualifications in fire and security systems installation and maintenance are preferred. Package Salary £35,000 - £40,000 DOE Call out rota 1 in 7 Opportunities to earn bonuses and commission. Working hours are Monday – Friday 8:30am – 5:30pm. Overtime paid at time and a half. Company vehicle provided and can be used for private use. Opportunities for progression and also further training.
