Hours would be across Monday to Friday.Contract typePermanentPay scaleScale I - Scale Points 17-20What skills and experience we're looking forDutiesand ResponsibilitiesSupportto pupils-Support pupils' learning in a rangeof classroom settings, including working with individuals, groups and wholeclasses (where the assigned teacher is not present), using detailed knowledge,experience, specialist skills and training.- Establish productive workingrelationships with pupils, acting as a role model, demonstrating positivevalues, attitudes and behaviour and setting high expectations.- Organise and manage pupils IEPs,maintaining and updating and review progress.- Promote the inclusion and acceptanceof all pupils within the classroom, encourage them to interact and workco-operatively with others and engage all in activities.- Support pupils consistently whilstrecognising and responding to their individual needs.- Promote independence and employstrategies to recognise and reward achievement of self-reliance.- Provide feedback to pupils inrelation to progress and achievement.- Monitor and provide for the care,safety and welfare of pupils.Support to Teachers- Organise and manage learningactivities (including learning environment and resources) in ways which keeppupils safe.- Under agreed system of supervision,plan and prepare teaching and learning objectives, adjusting activities/workplans as appropriate.- Monitor and evaluate pupil responsesto learning activities using a range of assessment and monitoring strategies,against pre-determined learning objectives.- Objectively assess, provide feedbackand reports as necessary on pupil development, progress and achievement.- Within the school's behavior andrelationships policy, apply behaviour management strategies and techniques tomanage behaviour constructively and contribute to a supportive and purposefullearning environment.- Support the role of parents inpupils' learning and contribute to meetings with parents to constructivelyfeedback on pupil progress/achievement.- Administer and assess/mark tests andinvigilate exams/tests.- Where relevant, direct and guide thework of other adults supporting teaching and learning in the classroom.Support to the Curriculum- Deliver learning activities topupils within an agreed system of supervision, adjusting activities accordingto pupil responses/needs.- Use ICT effectively to advancelearning and develop pupil' competence and independence in its use.- Devise, organise and manage safelythe learning activities, teaching space and resources, taking account ofpupils' interests, language and cultural backgrounds.- Advise on appropriate deployment anduse of specialist aid/resources/equipment.- Use their area(s) of expertise tosupport the planning and preparation of learning activities in these areas(s) (e.g. a subject area, SEN, EY, KS1 etc).Support to the school- Be involved in and contribute towhole school policy development.- Assist with the development ofpolicies and procedures relating to child protection, health, safety andsecurity, confidentiality and data protection and comply with these. Reportconcerns to an appropriate person.- Contribute to identification ofappropriate out of school learning activities, deliver / coordinate these, inaccordance with school policy.- May co-ordinate a school activity(e.g. extra-curricular activities / work experience / homeschool liaison / SENwork.- Be aware of and support differenceand ensure all pupils have equal access to opportunities to learn and develop.- Establish constructive relationshipsand communicate with other agencies/professionals to support achievement andprogress of pupils, in liaison with the teacher.- Contribute to the overallethos/work/aims of the school.- Take the initiative as appropriateto develop appropriate multi-agency approaches to supporting pupils.- Model good practice and contributeto planning and delivery of appropriate inset.Additional areas ofsupport-Otherthan employees supervised/managed: The post has considerable impact on thewellbeing of individuals or groups, through contributing to policy developmentand review and to the development and -delivery of learning activities.-Responsibilityfor staff: The post has some responsibility for others, through demonstratinggood practice, guiding/advising and directing other staff/ volunteers whosupport teaching and learning.-Supportpupils' learning in a range of classroom settings, including working withindividuals, groups and whole classes (where the assigned teacher is notpresent), using detailed knowledge, experience, specialist skills and training.Working with staff, parents/carers and relevantprofessionals-Share knowledge and understanding of pupils to other school staff andeducation, health and social care professionals, so that informed decisionmaking can take place on intervention and provision-Communicate effectively with parents and carers under the direction ofteachers-Contributeto meetings with parents and carers by providing feedback on pupil progress,attainment and barriers tolearning, as directed by teachers-Collaborate and work with colleagues and other relevant professionalswithin and beyond the school-Develop effective professional relationships with colleaguesProfessionaldevelopment-Help keep their own knowledge and understanding relevant and up to dateby reflecting on their own practice, liaising with school leaders, andidentifying relevant professionaldevelopment to improve personaleffectiveness-Take opportunities to build the appropriate skills, qualifications,and/or experience needed for the role, with support from the school-Take part in the school's appraisal proceduresWhat the school offers its staffWe are a well-regarded and happy school where children feel safe and valued, we currently have a vacancy for a Higher level Teaching Assistant to join our team of committed and dedicated staff with immediate start.Arden Forest Infant School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
