The Learning and Development Partner will play a crucial role in delivering and enhancing training programs within our children’s residential services. Leveraging a minimum of 3 years’ experience in residential children's services, the successful candidate will train, educate, and upskill both new and existing staff, ensuring they are fully prepared to meet the high standards expected in their roles. Training will include but is not limited to the following and is not exhaustive: Welcome to Caretech Safeguarding children Pillars (our own internal positive approaches to behaviour training) CSE and MFH Emergency First Aid at Work Medication Ligature Awareness Roles and responsibilities Person specification Training Delivery and Development: Collaborate with the L&D team to design and deliver training that is both practical and aligned with current standards. Utilise personal experience in residential children's services to provide relevant and impactful training that meets the specific needs of our staff. Training Administration: Ensure all training sessions are organised, well-presented, and run smoothly, coordinating with the L&D Coordinator as needed. Manage the assessment and evaluation of training programs, providing feedback to enhance the effectiveness of future sessions. Record Maintenance: Maintain accurate records of all training delivered using the Myrus system. Legislation and Best Practice: Stay informed about new legislation and best practices in the field, ensuring all training content is up-to-date and compliant. Subject Matter Expertise: Act as a Subject Lead in a specific area of expertise, collaborating with services to promote safe and effective practices. Health and Safety Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of personal and professional conduct, ensuring health and safety compliance in all training activities. Commitment to CareTech’s Values: Ensure all training programs reinforce CareTech’s values, promoting equality, diversity, and excellence in service provision. 1.            Knowledge In-depth understanding of good practice, current legislation, and policy trends in Health and Social Care, particularly within children’s residential services. Essential Expertise in mandatory training subjects relevant to residential care. Familiarity with a range of approaches to learning activities and best practices in L&D. Understanding of theory and best practice in learning and development and pertaining to children’s residential services 2.            Education, training and qualifications Essential Relevant qualifications within the mandatory subject area. Strong numeracy, literacy and IT skills. Must hold a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle. Desirable Training/teaching qualification.   3.            Experience Previous experience as a trainer - Desirable Minimum of 3 years' experience working within residential children's services - Essential Experience of managing and allocating resources effectively – desirable Administrative experience e.g. report and letter writing, keeping electronic/paper records, organisation, etc. - Essential 4.        Communication Essential Must possess strong communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with a wide range of people in various settings 5.       Personal Competencies Essential Able to work independently and as part of a team. Able to represent the organisation effectively in external engagements Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to embrace new tasks and challenges Commitment to ongoing personal development and the continuous improvement of the team.
