Freshminds’ boutique Research Consultancy offers customisable solutions, expert insights, in-depth analysis and tailored advice to corporate entities, private equity firms, and public bodies. We are seeking a business development consultant to join the team.You will be responsible for generating new business opportunities from both existing and potential clients. You will serve as a key commercial contact across Freshminds, nurture client relationships, address their needs, and drive revenue.Responsibilities: Generate and pursue new business opportunities to drive revenue.Manage and enhance the volume and quality of proposals by drafting, refining, and delivering high-impact proposals.Provide clear and concise briefings to team members to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.Oversee and verify the quality of deliverables to ensure they meet client expectations and internal standards.Collaborate with product teams to enhance sales strategies and optimize product offerings, driving increased sales and market penetration.Develop and implement best practices and processes in collaboration with the Director of Research Consultancy (DRC) and Managing Directors (MDs) to streamline sales efforts and improve effectiveness.Represent the company at industry events alongside MDs, fostering relationships, and promoting Freshminds' offerings.Experience and Qualifications:Must possess a proven sales track record in a consulting capacity To be considered for this position and 2+ years experience in a commercial role for a consultancy or a research agency.Applicants must hold at least a Bachelor degree in a relevant fieldRequired Skills:2+ years of experience in a commercial role for a consultancy or research agency.Skilled at identifying opportunities through a structured approach to lead generation, criteria-based qualification, understanding decision drivers, and applying contextual selling with situational judgment techniques.Experience leveraging business intelligence and internal CRM platforms.Skilled at building relationships with new clients by becoming their key point of contact at Freshminds, addressing various needs and service demands.Expert in understanding client challenges through proactive listening, attention to detail, and strategic questioning. Skilled in defining geographic, industry, product, and process needs, as well as project timelines and identifying obstacles.Skilled in drafting proposals within tight deadlines, incorporating feedback from internal and external stakeholders. Expertise in defining scope, evaluating commercial implications for both Freshminds and clients, and developing bespoke methodologies with multi-scenario analysis to support decision-making.Proven ability to guide clients and stakeholders to a final decision by engaging with them through meetings, calls, and events.Expert in fostering repeat business by engaging with clients through excellent account management and sales psychology.
