Overview of the role We are looking to hire an exceptional Payroll Manager to manage a team of six. Whilst the ideal candidate would be based around the Manchester / Northwest area we welcome candidates from across the UK. CIPP qualification is desirable, however fully supported study is available for the right person. Due to WGC’s rapid expansion in Europe, knowledge of the German language and/or payroll is highly desirable but not essential. Role and Responsibilities · Assist in the preparation and end-to-end payroll processing for 5000+ employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legislation. · Ensure payroll complies with PAYE and other policy and legislative requirements. · Assist in conducting regular audits to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Prepare and analyse payroll reports as needed for both internal and external auditors as well as external reporting. · Oversee the maintenance and updates of the payroll system, ensuring it meets the needs of the organisation and complies with all regulations. · Supervise and support the payroll team, providing guidance, training, professional development and optimise performance. · Address and resolve payroll-related inquiries and discrepancies promptly and professionally. · Support in identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the payroll function. · Work closely with HR, Finance, and other departments to ensure seamless integration of payroll processes with other business functions. · Assist in managing year-end payroll activities, and reconciliation tasks. Skills · Strong understanding of payroll systems and processes. · In-depth knowledge of payroll-related legislation. · Proficient in payroll software (e.g., ADP Celergo and or iTrent) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Exposure to Business Objects would be an advantage. · Excellent organisational and time-management skills. · Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. · Exceptional attention to detail. · Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
