The Opportunity:

We are looking for a highly skilled Risk Manager with expertise in Governance, Risk Management and Compliance (GRC) to lead on structuring, governance design, carrying out risk assessments, 3rd party diligence and recommending the appropriate risk strategies in to the board in order to mitigate risks . This is a pivotal role for a rapidly scaling and dynamic organisation where you will be critical in fortifying risk management capabilities and ensuring compliance with new and existing regulatory bodies.

Key Responsibilities for the Risk Manager, GRC – Crypto / Digital Assets:

Governance:

• Define and implement GRC policies, frameworks, and guidelines across the organization
• Establish clear roles and responsibilities for GRC stakeholders, including the board of directors, CEO, CRO, and business unit managers
• Ensure alignment of GRC with business objectives and strategies

Risk Management:

• Identify, assess, and prioritize risks across the organization
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies and controls
• Monitor and report on risk exposure and compliance with regulations
• Collaborate with business unit managers to integrate risk management into daily operations

Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with industry and government regulations, standards, and laws
• Develop and maintain compliance programs and procedures
• Conduct compliance training and awareness programs for employees
• Monitor and report on compliance status and identify areas for improvement

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Work closely with finance chiefs, risk managers, compliance officers, HR managers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective GRC implementation
• Provide guidance and support to business units on GRC requirements and best practices
• Facilitate communication and collaboration across the organization to ensure a cohesive GRC approach

Monitoring and Reporting:

• Develop and maintain GRC metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
• Monitor and report on GRC performance and compliance status
• Identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions

Experience required:

• Expertise in GRC, ideally within capital markets with knowledge of the Crypto / Digital Asset sector.
• Track record in structuring, governance, 3rd party due diligence and supporting GRC.
• Background in running risk assessments and working with Senior Leadership to report effectiveness of Risk Measures, recommend strategies to mitigate Risk and training of staff.
• Proven knowledge of regulatory frameworks such as FCA, AMF, BMA, MICA, DORA, GDPR and security governance.
• Ability to engage across all layers of a business both domestically and internationally.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to work independently, manage priorities and apply project management methodology.
