Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer Automation / Material Handling Specialist (Multi-skilled) Hours: Monday to Friday 09:00-17:00 Our client, a leadingB projects specialist in Market Harborough, is seeking a skilled Maintenance Engineer with expertise in material handling systems, along with strong electrical background and an understanding of mechanical fundamentals. About the Role: You'll be responsible for maintaining and optimizing complex material handling equipment, ensuring smooth operations and minimal downtime. Your electrical expertise will be crucial in troubleshooting and improving automated systems. Key Responsibilities: * Perform preventive and reactive maintenance on material handling equipment * Develop and implement Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity * Diagnose and repair electrical faults in conveyor systems, automated guided vehicles, and robotic picking systems * Implement improvements to increase efficiency and reduce energy consumption * Collaborate with production teams to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment performance * Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Requirements: * HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification * Minimum 3 years' experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in material handling environments * Strong knowledge of electrical systems, PLC programming, and motor controls * Experience with conveyor systems, robotics, and automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS) * Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings * Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure * Willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends and on-call shifts Benefits: * Competitive salary based on experience * Excellent annual leave plus bank holidays * Pension scheme * Ongoing training and development opportunities * Employee assistance program Location: Market Harborough, Leicestershire If you're an experienced Maintenance Engineer with a passion for keeping complex material handling systems running smoothly, we want to hear from you.
