Principal CS&A Engineer

IR35 Status: Inside Duration: 12 Months Security Clearance: UK SC Position: Senior Engineer (preferred) or Principal Engineer Location: Preferably Warrington, but open to other CNL locations (Bristol, Preston, Westlakes). Job Purpose The Senior Engineer oversees the delivery of engineering and technical activities, applying specialized knowledge to resolve technical issues, produce reports, and guide less experienced team members. The role requires independent work with minimal supervision, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders. Key Responsibilities Lead design, development, and problem-solving within a specialized area. Handle complex engineering challenges and provide guidance to junior team members. Ensure adherence to Health & Safety standards and compliance with relevant codes and standards. Foster collaboration across teams and manage customer relationships. Oversee technical documentation, risk management, and project safety assessments. Act as a Technical Authority or Engineering Lead when authorized. Support project planning, control, and delivery. Experience/Qualifications/Skills Essential: Engineering degree (or equivalent) with significant experience. Nuclear industry experience or similarly regulated industry. Chartered Engineer status (or working toward it). Experience working in multi-discipline teams on various projects. Strong communication skills. Desirable: Member of a relevant institute or significant engineering experience. Experience managing engineering scope from concept to full EPC. Experience in commercial or defence projects.
