Import Operator - Projects

We are looking for an experienced Import Operator for our client based in Leeds. This client has an excellent reputation and is well thought of in the freight forwarding industry.

This role involves planning and managing unusual loads or special projects. You'll manage the end-to-end journey for the customer, agreeing pricing and liaising with carriers.

Main duties to include:

• Managing project cargo, oversized, abnormal loads etc
• Booking and pricing shipments
• Negotiate with carriers to get the best prices
• Build relationships with customers and carriers
• Track shipments and flag any delays or issues with deliveries
• Complete all import documentation and file correctly
• Keep customers up to date

We are looking for:

• Experience of importing or exporting goods via Sea or Air
• Experience of working in a Freight Forwarder
• Breakbulk, Intermodal, Multimodal or Project Cargo experience is desirable
• A good relationship builder
• Someone who is organised and can work to deadlines
