Senior Estate Planning Manager

Location: Surrey (hybrid)

Salary: £60,000 - £70,000 per annum


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Estate Planning Manager with expertise in public sector estates planning, particularly in the health or life sciences sectors. This role, part of the Strategy Life Sciences Service Line, will report directly to the Strategy in Life Sciences Director and work closely within a small team. The position will be based primarily at a major government life sciences site in Surrey, with occasional travel to other UK locations. Ideal candidates will have a background in Architecture or Masterplanning and experience in strategic estate management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Plot management of the client’s estate
  • Oversee the 'client needs' processes and stakeholder relationships
  • Manage Estate Development Control Plans
  • Lead Technical Board management and report management
  • Oversee business processes for estate planning functions
  • Assist in developing robust information to support project delivery and implementation
  • Provide strategic advisory support
  • Support business development within the Strategy Life Sciences (SLS) team


Essential Skills:

  • Strong consultative approach to client engagement
  • Expertise in stakeholder management and alliance building
  • Analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to apply data-driven analysis for strategic decision-making
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in delivering high-quality reports and presentations
  • Process improvement and compliance management
  • Experience managing assurance and validation processes
  • Proven ability to work as part of a team
  • Proficiency in Autodesk software, particularly AutoCAD and Revit


Essential Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field in the construction industry
  • Extensive experience in construction and/or the public sector
  • Project Management qualifications (Prince 2 / APM PQ)
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with political awareness
  • Established relationships with technical partners and industry experts


Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Experience delivering Estate Strategy
  • Familiarity with Public Sector Estates teams
  • Experience managing laboratories or high containment environments
  • Bachelor’s or equivalent in Project Management
  • MA or Postgraduate qualification
  • Chartered status (ARB/RIBA, RICS, CIAT, CIBSE)
