Paediatric Occupational Therapist – Specialist Practitioner (Band 6) Location: Kingston & Richmond Reports to: Team Lead / Clinical Lead Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team in Kingston. The successful candidate will provide high-quality assessment, intervention, and support for children with a range of developmental, physical, and sensory needs. This role is integral in promoting independence and enhancing the quality of life for children and their families. Key Responsibilities: * Conduct comprehensive assessments of children’s occupational performance and participation. * Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment findings. * Collaborate with families, educators, and other professionals to ensure a holistic approach to care. * Provide therapeutic interventions using evidence-based practices, including sensory integration and fine motor skill development. * Monitor and evaluate progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary. * Maintain accurate and timely documentation of assessments, interventions, and outcomes. * Provide training and support to parents and caregivers to promote skills transfer in daily activities. * Participate in case discussions, team meetings, and supervision sessions. * Contribute to service development initiatives and quality improvement projects. * Keep abreast of current research and best practices in paediatric occupational therapy. Qualifications: * Degree in Occupational Therapy (or equivalent). * Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). * Experience working with children in a clinical or community setting. * Knowledge of child development and common paediatric conditions affecting occupational performance. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Desired Skills: * Specialisation in areas such as sensory processing, neurodevelopmental disorders, or autism spectrum disorders is an advantage. * Experience with assistive technology and adaptive equipment. * Familiarity with relevant legislation and policies related to children’s services.
