Field Based Business Development Manager
Coverage: Bedfordshire, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Cambridgeshire, East London, Essex, Hertfordshire, Middlesex, Northamptonshire, North London, Norfolk & Suffolk.
Salary: c. £45,000per annum Plus Car Allowance
Hours: 35 hours per week
Contract: Permanent
The West Brom are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager, who will cover North and East London, as well a selection of the Home Counties. The post holder will attract, maintain and develop business relationships with the objective of delivering quality mortgage business in significant volumes from intermediary partners.
The Business Development Manager will be the external face of the West Bromwich Building Society with intermediaries within your region. Your strengths lie in your professionalism, your business development capabilities and your people skills.
Key responsibilities are:
To effectively manage and develop your designated territory efficiently, targeting agreed accounts with potential, both face to face and remotely.
Ensure that new registrations and existing relationships are developed to maximise the opportunity and also increase multiple submitters of quality business
The introduced mortgage advances target relative to the BDM role in terms of volume, quality, product mix, LTV, etc
Responsibility for monitoring control of the effective implementation and ongoing adherence to external regulation, such as PRA/FCA and also internal controls, Operational Risk and Intermediary Governance Framework, for example
Maintain a high standard of customer service
Represent the Society at road shows, meetings, industry events and functions.
Identify, develop and manage the relationship with intermediaries and brokers, ensuring that business opportunities are maximised, and that the Society is presented in a professional and positive manner
Building professional relationships with mortgage introducers and third party suppliers, up to and including Director level at those businesses
Coach, train, influence and motivate intermediaries to promote the Society's products and services and maximise sales opportunities, generating quality business within the Society risk appetite.
The role holder is wholly responsible for forming and agreeing new business opportunities within their designated area/region.
Effective implementation and ongoing adherence to MCOB and FCA/PRA regulation.
Establishment and development of individual business plan to ensure the effective achievement of agreed business objectives
The skills and experience required are:
Ideally a specialist knowledge of the Intermediary market and how this operates, and also requires a full understanding of the competitor market across a range of market segments
A high degree of analytical skills to enable the role holder to fully research all aspects of the Intermediary market utilising such tools as competitor websites, strategic mortgage publications and an understanding of the relevant trade bodies (IMLA, AMI, UK Finance etc)
Whilst working within the parameters of WBBS leadership competencies and values, the role holder must have a flexible approach to the methods applied to achieve business results as market conditions continue to change
An extensive understanding of the financial services sector, ideally with a minimum of 2 years experience in the intermediary mortgage market.
Good understanding of the strategic drivers underpinning the UK financial services market across a broad product base, specifically intermediary mortgage distribution. The role holder must keep this knowledge up to date and will be expected to undertake ongoing personal development to maintain awareness.
A proven business development track record, ideally in the business to business sector.
In depth presentation skills with a thorough understanding of Powerpoint and other technical aids
