OverviewWe are looking for a compassionate and skilled SEN (Special Educational Needs) Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN in a Primary School in Hornchurch, Havering. The role involves providing support to students with autism, ADHD, or other learning and behavioural needs, ensuring they have access to an inclusive and supportive educational environment.ResponsibilitiesSEN Teaching Assistants are tasked with the following:Assist in the development and implementation of education health care plans (EHCPs) for students with special needsProvide one-on-one support to students, helping them to effectively access the curriculum and participate in classroom activitiesSupport the teacher in delivering tailored learning activities and promoting positive behaviour management techniquesFoster a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring that all students feel valued and supportedEstablish and maintain effective communication with teaching staff, parents, and external professionalsPromote social and emotional development through structured activities and interventionsRequirementsAny potential SEN Teaching Assistants must meet the following criteria:You must have an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or be willing to pay for a new one (£52.20)Experience working with students with autism, ADHD, or other special educational needsStrong understanding of behaviour management strategies and knowledge of school behaviour policiesAbility to build and maintain positive relationships with students, staff, and parentsA patient and empathetic approach, with the ability to remain calm and focused in challenging situationsRelevant qualifications or training in SEN support or education would be beneficialHours & PayMonday to Friday - 8:30am to 3:30pm (Monday-Friday)£85-95 per dayWeekly pay (£425-475 per week)Temporary to Permanent - permanent contract available after you have completed 12 academic weeks
