This role offers a competitive day rate of £500-£600 and the potential for extension up to 6 months or beyond.Role OverviewAs a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our client's data infrastructure, reporting systems, and integration processes. This position is ideal for a seasoned professional who can drive technical innovation and streamline data operations across multiple business units.Key ResponsibilitiesData Management and Reporting:- Oversee and enhance the entire data and reporting suite- Design and manage secure infrastructure- Document system architectureSystem Integration:- Facilitate finance system migration and ERP integration- Implement ERP to Sage data flow for sales and stock management- Automate daily revaluation journals from ERP to SageReporting and Analytics:- Develop daily sales and margin reports for each business unit- Create daily stock valuation and movement reports- Manage Power BI and data lake environmentsAPI and Third-Party Integration:- Establish API links with couriers, marketplaces, and external databases- Implement GRNI and PO-to-invoice management in Sage/NAV- Integrate stock management into accounting system via API- Develop automated ROAS with Google API integrationTechnical Requirements:- Proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala- Strong SQL skills and experience with relational databases- Expertise in big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)- Cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)- Experience with ETL tools and data warehousing concepts- Familiarity with NoSQL databases and containerization tools- Knowledge of Linnworks eCommerce software is a plusContract Details:- Duration: 3 months (potential extension to 6 months or more)- Day Rate: £500-£600- IR35 Status: Outside IR35This role presents an excellent opportunity for a skilled Data Engineer to make a significant impact on a rapidly evolving retail technology landscape.
