Senior Data Engineer – Quantitative Trading A leading Hedge Fund in London are looking to bring on an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join their centralised global Data team working across investment, business and technology. This is an exciting opportunity for the new hire to get involved with greenfield work, helping the team build brand new ETL pipelines from scratch. The Data team currently builds and maintains thousands of data processes which directly impacts critical operations within the firm as well as investment decisions. They have ownership over the platform that run and monitor these processes and develop them as they see fit. Responsibilities: Building data ingestion pipelines, systems and platforms. Given the freedom to explore the data, identify any issues or things that can be improved and communicate them concisely. Working with numerous teams to standardise and develop ingestion methodologies to maintain/improve best standards. Monitoring, improving and supporting existing systems and ingestion pipelines. Required Skills: Excellent Data Engineering experience within the finance industry. Strong Python experience with exposure to C++. Proven experience of building ETL pipelines from scratch. Experience working with data storage and manipulation tools (SQL, Pandas, Snowflake etc.) Experience of Airflow and Kubernetes in an open shift on premise environment. Previous use of Observability tools (Grafana, Terraform etc.) Total compensation on offer for this role is between £250,000 - £350,000 dependant on experience.
