Company Overview:

You may not have heard of The Good Food Group before, but you’ve probably seen one of our products on the shelves of major UK retail stores. We are revolutionising the VMS, sports nutrition, and healthcare industries by connecting retailers such as Boots, Holland & Barrett, Aldi, and Tesco with the freshest and most exciting new brands on the market. Our business spans account management, new product development, and marketing our very own brands in-house. With three consecutive years of triple-digit year-on-year growth, we are expanding quickly and looking for dynamic talent to join us on this exciting journey.

Job Overview:

We are seeking an Account Executive to support our National Account Managers in building, executing, and managing account plans with key retailers. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping activate Joint Business Plans (JBPs), promotional plans, and marketing initiatives, while acting as a key point of contact between the business, retailers, and the brands we represent. This is a development role with a clear path towards becoming a National Account Manager within 1-2 years, providing excellent training and exposure to account management practices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Support:
  • Assist the National Account Manager in building and activating account plans with major retailers.
  • Manage and submit documentation for Joint Business Plans (JBP) and ensure timely execution of marketing and promotional plans as agreed with retailers and brands.
  • Act as a key point of contact for assigned channels, supporting the National Account Manager with day-to-day account management tasks.

  • Retailer and Brand Coordination:
  • Maintain strong relationships with retail buyers, ensuring clear and open communication about plans, submissions, and timelines.
  • Coordinate with brands to ensure we are accessing all necessary materials (e.g., product information, marketing assets) needed to execute retailer plans effectively.
  • Proactively follow up with both brands and retailers to ensure smooth execution of all agreed-upon plans.
  • Help solve any issues that arise between retailers and brands by escalating to the National Account Manager as necessary.

  • Marketing & Promotion Activation:
  • Support the execution of promotional and marketing plans, including monitoring performance and providing feedback to the National Account Manager and the wider team.
  • Ensure that all promotional plans are carried out in a timely manner and provide reports on performance to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Development & Learning:
  • Gain exposure to key account management skills and practices, learning how to independently manage accounts.
  • Work closely with the National Account Manager to understand best practices in negotiation, account growth, and building long-term relationships with both retailers and brands.
  • Within 1-2 years, aim to transition into a National Account Manager role with ownership of your own accounts and channels.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field is preferred.
  • Previous experience in a client-facing or administrative role is an advantage, particularly in retail or FMCG sectors.
  • Strong organisational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • High level of attention to detail, particularly when managing documentation, promotional plans, and timelines.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude and a desire to learn and grow in an account management role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.

Key Skills to Develop:

  • Negotiation and account management
  • Building strategic plans with retailers
  • Managing end-to-end Joint Business Plans (JBPs) and promotional plans
  • Developing strong relationships with buyers and brands
  • Commercial acumen and financial planning for account management
