Description We are recruiting a Permanent Civil Enforcement Support Officer’s for our local government client in Bedfordshire. to provide a high-quality civil enforcement action to ensure the free movement of traffic and rotation of car parking spaces within our Car Parks and on-street parking. We endeavour to maximise compliance with our parking restrictions through education and enforcement. By providing residents, visitors and businesses with clear and effective parking solutions. Responsibility The Civil Enforcement Officers are responsible for providing an efficient and effective parking enforcement service to minimise vehicle parking in contravention through the issue of penalty charge notices. You will provide this service according to objectives and policies. Full training will be given to the successful candidate, including on-the-job training and a level 2 award for parking enforcement officers. You must apply for Standard DBS clearance as part of the Recruitment process. You will need a full clean Driving Licence. Qualification – Essential * GCSE Grade (or equivalent) in English Language and Mathematics. * Qualified in or committed to achieving within three months of appointment a City & Guilds Level 2 Award for Parking Enforcement Officers (essential requirement) * Advanced –Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Social Media. Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience Requirements - Criteria-to be Tested at Shortlisting * Flexible approach to working hours and duties. * Best practice in Customer Care issues ensuring service users are dealt with effectively and politely. * Able to manage difficult situations with members of the public who are often angry, hostile and uncooperative. * Able to work quickly and effectively, potentially dealing with a range of violations, thereby requiring an awareness of various regulations, notices, policies, etc., sufficient to recognise a breach and understand how this might be addressed. * Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. * Ability to demonstrate excellent discretion and diplomacy when enforcing multiple regulations. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Knowledge and practical experience of computer software specific to the function and general IT applications. * The ability to use data logging equipment following training. * The ability to maintain the Pay and Display machines following relevant training. * The ability to follow set procedures and to use discretion when required. * Ability to produce and keep accurate records. * Ability to maintain confidentiality. * Willingness to wear the full required CEO uniform. * Willingness to undertake and practice Health & Safety procedures to comply with legislation to always ensure the safety of themselves and others. * Must have a valid driving licence and use of a vehicle. Essential Compliance Requirements * 2 Years References * Standard satisfactory clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service * A pre-engagement screening is mandatory for this role.
