Our client is an international, leading energy commodities firm, and this role is based in the London office.
As a member of the Exchange Clearing Team you will be responsible for performing day-to-day clearing and exchange reconciliation tasks, whilst also being involved in a varied list of projects and overarching initiatives as well as process improvements. As a global team member, you will be required to work closely with team members across the globe as well as the trading desks and other groups. The role is an excellent opportunity to work in a collaborative environment, offering room to build relationships whilst learning more about the business.
Responsibilities:
T+1 Exchange reconciliations, including troubleshooting and break resolution. Trader/market/trading platform on- and offboarding. Ensuring trades are booked in a timely manner and reflected in our ETRM systems accurately. Managing trade lifecycle related events. Daily margin related tasks as well as initial margin scenario modelling. Ad-hoc tasks and project work. Document and up-keep documentation of the Exchange Clearing processes as and when required. Gain understanding of how the processes work and therefore be able to identify and implement improvement opportunities. Working with commercial teams, exchanges and clearing brokers to optimize trading costs.
Requirements:
Minimum 3 years’ experience in either commodities – European Power and Gas, LNG, Crude Oil and Refined products – or exchange clearing. Experience in handling large datasets. Good understanding of the trade lifecycle. Good understanding of operational risks and controls. Analytical thinking. Attention to detail. Drive to understand the bigger picture. Demonstrate ownership of responsibilities, issues, tasks and see them through from start to finish. Strong technical skills (Excel, VBA, formulas and lookups, pivot tables) Good prioritization and time management skills. Ability to work independently and under pressure.
