Forklift Driver

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Airside Forklift Driver to join our team at Heathrow Airport. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts and other equipment to transport and handle cargo efficiently and safely within the airside operations area. This role requires strict adherence to airport regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate forklifts to load, unload, and transport cargo safely within designated areas.
• Ensure all cargo is handled securely and in compliance with company and airport regulations.
• Conduct daily equipment checks and maintenance to ensure forklifts are in safe working condition.
• Assist in the efficient handling and storage of cargo, ensuring timely movement and delivery.
• Collaborate with team members and other departments to facilitate smooth operations.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
• Complete all necessary documentation and records accurately and on time.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Forklift License: Valid forklift operator license is required.
• 5 Year Work History: We will need your 5 year work history from HMRC app or website
• DBS Check: A clean Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is mandatory.
• Experience: Previous experience operating forklifts, preferably in an airport or similar high-security environment.
• Training: Must complete Cargo Operative Training before commencing employment.
• Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle physically demanding tasks.
• Availability: Willingness to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, as required.

Shift Pattern:

• The role operates on a 4 on, 2 off shift pattern.
• Shifts consist of two early shifts followed by two late shifts.
• Flexibility to work during different times of the day is essential.

Additional Information:

• Successful candidates will be required to undergo additional security checks as part of the airport's compliance requirements.
• Cargo Operative Training: Successful candidates must complete Cargo Operative Training before starting work. This training will cover essential skills and regulations needed for airside cargo operations.
• Full training will be provided to ensure compliance with airport regulations and safety standards.
