Associate Mechanical (Buildings - HVAC)
Remote with Occasional Visits (Weybridge, London or Guildford)
Contract - 12 months initially (Inside IR35)
UK EYES PROJECT - SC Clearance Required
Project Experience:
HVAC design within a regulated multidisciplinary environment, including laboratory and life science sectors.
Generally, the candidate must:
Have a proven track record in both leading projects for your discipline and supporting an overall project team
Able to work using their own initiative with minimal supervision on technical aspects of their discipline or have specific specialist experience applicable to the role
Able to work under the clear direction of the client and interpret the needs of the project as a whole to meet the full delivery needs
Work autonomously within a mechanical, electrical and public health (MEP) discipline team, providing design and technical advice with a multidisciplinary approach on a wide range of projects
Complete the detailed designs of all mechanical systems associated to the project
Consider the feasibility of the project specific to the discipline and lead the feasibility study for the project
Take responsibility for and direct others in the production of detailed and performance specification for the discipline subject to review by colleagues prior to issue
Reviewing design programmes and ensuring that sufficient resource is available to complete the works
10+ years' experience in delivering HVAC designs for similar building typologies.

Key Technical Requirements
Good attention to detail and show pride in the work produced.
A detailed understanding of the Part L regulations applicable to the discipline and how to demonstrate this through calculation.
A working understanding of TAS of IES to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects.
An understanding of working with RevitMEP or other 3D design software to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects.
Working knowledge of AutoCAD to allow the allocation / direction of work on projects.
Mechanical Skills:
Working knowledge of Hevacomp
Heat loss calculations
Heat gain calculations
Pipe sizing (LTHW, CHW, HWS, CWS etc)
Pump sizing
Duct sizing
Fan sizing
Psychrometrics
Control valve sizing and authority
Thermal modelling
BMS Systems
Qualifications
CIBSE / IET / IMechE Engineering Council accredited honours degree or specific experience that will lead to Chartership.
Achieved or working towards I Eng or C Eng status
BEng/Bsc/MEng in applicable engineering discipline
Experience of working with BIM and IES users
