The Compliance Manager will oversee all aspects of compliance within Elevate Supply, ensuring adherence to legal, regulatory, and internal standards. The role is pivotal in maintaining high standards across recruitment, placement, and safeguarding. You will manage compliance processes, monitor changing legislation, and ensure that all teachers and staff are vetted appropriately. The role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent organizational skills, and a strong understanding of safeguarding policies and regulations within the education sector.Key Responsibilities:Compliance Oversight:Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures aligned with government regulations, such as the Keeping Children Safe in Education (KCSIE) guidelines, Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks, and other safeguarding standards.Ensure all candidates, including supply teachers and support staff, meet statutory requirements before placement, including qualifications, DBS, right-to-work checks, and reference verification.Stay updated on changes in educational legislation and compliance requirements, adapting policies as necessary.Recruitment and Vetting:Lead and manage the compliance process for recruitment, ensuring that all supply teachers are fully compliant before placement in schools.Conduct thorough checks on candidate files to ensure that safeguarding, identification, qualifications, and experience meet the required standards.Ensure all data, including references and certificates, are stored securely and maintained up to date.Auditing and Reporting:Perform regular internal audits of candidate files to ensure compliance with company and regulatory requirements.Prepare compliance reports for management, highlighting areas of improvement or potential risk.Manage external inspections and audits from regulatory bodies, ensuring the company meets all required standards.Training and Development:Provide ongoing training and support to recruitment consultants and staff on compliance standards and processes.Advise management and staff on risk management strategies and compliance best practices.Risk Management and Safeguarding:Develop and enforce effective safeguarding policies, ensuring that all supply teachers understand and adhere to these requirements.Manage any compliance-related concerns or incidents and take appropriate action, including liaising with relevant authorities when necessary.Stakeholder Management:Liaise with schools, educational bodies, and regulatory authorities to ensure full compliance with all requirements.Serve as the primary point of contact for compliance issues both internally and externally.Key Skills & Qualifications:Proven experience in a compliance or safeguarding role within education, recruitment, or a related field.Experience in the supply teacher recruitment industry.In-depth knowledge of the UK education system, specifically related to safeguarding and compliance (e.g., KCSIE, DBS regulations).Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Ability to manage multiple tasks while maintaining high accuracy.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex regulatory information clearly.Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.Proficiency in using compliance and vetting software.If you require a reasonable adjustment to the application/selection process to enable you to demonstrate your ability to perform the job requirements please include this at the foot of your covering letter.
