About the role: A really exciting role, as the Chief of Marketing, you will be responsible for the hands-on leadership, strategic direction, and execution of all marketing initiatives to drive growth and brand awareness globally. Your primary focus will be on developing and optimizing a demand generation engine that fuels a robust and qualified sales pipeline and shaping the future direction of the brand. You will take charge of creating and managing a comprehensive marketing budget, including headcount and discretionary spending, ensuring alignment with overall business goals.

As a data-driven and strategic leader, you will oversee all aspects of marketing, including brand positioning, product marketing, content strategy, and digital campaigns, while continuously measuring and optimizing performance. Collaboration is key in this role, as you will work closely with sales, customer success, product, and other business leaders to ensure a seamless customer journey from awareness to conversion. Your goal will be to drive significant growth in pipeline and revenue, while enhancing the overall customer experience and brand loyalty.

Responsibilities: Developing and Executing Marketing/Brand Strategy:
  • Define and implement a comprehensive marketing strategy aligned with the company's business goals.
  • Lead the development of brand positioning and messaging that resonates with target audiences.
  • Brand Vision and Positioning: Developing and refining the Boost's vision, mission, and market positioning to ensure consistency across all touchpoints.
  • Develop and maintain a cohesive brand identity, including logos, colors, tone of voice, and key messaging that resonate with the target market.
Demand Generation and Pipeline Growth:
  • Build and optimize a demand generation engine to create a steady flow of qualified leads.
  • Utilize advanced digital marketing techniques, including the right mix of PPC, SEO, and organic strategies, to drive high-scoring MQLs.
  • Leverage ABM and PPM tactics to effectively engage and nudge targets closer to conversion.
Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the marketing team, fostering a culture of innovation and high performance.
  • Set clear goals, expectations, and performance metrics for the team.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Collaborate closely with sales, product, customer success, and other departments to ensure alignment on goals and strategies.
  • Work with the product team to develop and execute go-to-market strategies for new product launches.
  • Develop and manage partner marketing initiatives, working with key partners to create joint programs and strategies that drive mutual business growth and enhance market reach.
Budget Management:
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to drive the highest impact.
  • Regularly report on marketing spend and performance, providing insights to the executive team.
Data-Driven Decision Making:
  • Use data and analytics to inform marketing strategies, campaigns, and decisions.
  • Continuously monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and make data-driven adjustments to improve marketing effectiveness.
Digital Marketing Expertise:
  • Demonstrate a deep understanding of modern digital marketing techniques, including paid, earned, and owned approaches.
  • Manage a balanced approach to PPC and SEO to drive organic and direct inbound traffic.
  • Integrate local hooks and third-party reputation and intent sources to enhance outbound strategies and always-on programs.
  • Maintain a strong grasp of the martech landscape, ensuring the marketing stack supports an advanced digital marketing machine.
Content and Product Marketing:
  • Oversee the creation of high-quality content that drives engagement, lead generation, and brand awareness.
  • Develop product marketing strategies that clearly communicate the value proposition to the target market.
Customer Journey Optimization:
  • Analyze and optimize the customer journey from initial contact through to conversion, retention, and advocacy.
  • Implement strategies to improve conversion rates and reduce customer acquisition costs.
Brand Management and Public Relations:
  • Ensure consistent and effective brand messaging across all channels and touchpoints.
  • Manage public relations efforts to enhance brand reputation and visibility in the market.
Market Research and Competitive Analysis:
  • Conduct ongoing market research to understand industry trends, customer needs, and competitive dynamics.
  • Use insights to refine marketing strategies and stay ahead of the competition.
Analyst Relations:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with industry analysts to influence market perceptions and enhance the company's standing.
  • Create and execute strategies for analyst engagement, including briefings, reports, and inquiries, to ensure accurate and favorable coverage of the company.
  • Leverage analyst insights to inform marketing strategies and identify opportunities for growth and differentiation.
Skills, qualifications and experience:
  • Strategic Vision and Execution: The ability to craft a clear, long-term marketing strategy that aligns with the company's growth goals and then execute it effectively. This includes understanding the market, setting priorities, and adapting quickly to change.
  • Data-Driven Decision Making: Mastery of analytics is crucial. A CMO must be able to interpret data to drive decisions, optimize marketing campaigns, and demonstrate ROI. This skill helps in making informed adjustments that fuel growth.
  • Team Leadership and Collaboration: Building and leading a high-performing marketing team is essential. This includes fostering a collaborative culture, developing talent, and working cross-functionally with sales, product, and customer success teams to align marketing efforts with overall company objectives.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute impactful marketing strategies, complemented by deep knowledge of digital marketing techniques such as PPC, SEO, and content marketing.
  • Expertise in crafting content marketing strategies and implementing ABM to effectively engage high-value targets.
  • Background in a senior marketing role within a SaaS organization, with a successful track record of leading and developing high-performing marketing teams.
  • Experience working in the US and European markets including the Nordics, with a thorough understanding of its trends, customer behaviors, and market dynamics.
