Contract Scotland is currently seeking a Head of Estates to join our clients, who operating within the education sector. As the Head of Estates, you will oversee the development, condition, and security of our client's buildings and attached ground. Additionally, you will be responsible for Health and Safety provisions for each of their sites. Previous experience overseeing an estate or property portfolio of a similar nature would be desirable. However, a firm track record in property maintenance, and facilities management, would be considered. Key Responsibilities: Lead, develop, and manage the estates and maintenance teams to deliver a proactive, efficient service. Ensure the property complies with all regulatory requirements and legislation through effective systems, policies, processes, and learning. Provide management with support, advice, representation, and direction on all estate matters. Manage the Estates department budget and oversee all capital estate projects in association with the College’s Director of Finance and the Director of Development. Liaise with all College stakeholders, both internally and externally, and submit reports to the Funder’s Group and the Developments Trust. Comply with contract tendering procedures and work closely with the procurement team. Oversee any legal or required statistical returns for SFC and other external organizations as required. Prepare and submit Estate reports to the Estates and Finance Committee (CIO) and the Board of Directors. Support the Development Director with duties concerning the estate. Desirable Requirements: A recognised qualification in Health and Safety Management. Knowledge of risk assessment process. Ability to influence and work in a collaborative environment with multiple stakeholders. Ideally a Gaelic speaker or a willingness to learn. Senior Estates management experience. Substantial experience in managing building projects and maintenance programs. Experience in planning, reporting, and presenting at a senior management level.
