About the role

This role will sit within our LMP Education Sales function and the successful candidate will be required to lead a team to fulfil our Apprenticeship programme start numbers. The Head of Apprenticeship Sales will need to devise and implement a forward-thinking sales strategy to promote, engage, create, and fill Apprenticeship start targets across England.
The Head of Apprenticeship Sales will be responsible for ensuring that the full sales team reach or exceed starts targets, recruitment targets, Learner retention and Learner progression targets whilst providing impartial information, advice, and guidance throughout each person's programme. This role will also act as the Sales Director second in command for the Apprenticeship sales function.

Responsibilities
Develop Sales Strategy: Work with the strategy team to create and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve revenue targets and facilitate growth.

  • To develop and implement a sales strategy over the next 24 months for all sectors LMP work in.
  • To develop and implement a recruitment strategy for businesses and schools over the next 24 months.
  • To support and work closely with the Head of Partnerships.
  • To develop a Client Success Strategy to aid learner retention and progression opportunities.
  • To ensure sales, account management, and recruitment staff consistently meet their targets and KPIs.
  • To ensure that new starter and revenue targets are met.


Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and motivate the full apprenticeship sales teams to achieve individual and collective goals. Provide ongoing training and development to enhance performance and drive results.
Sales Forecasting and Planning: Analyze market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to develop sales forecasts and plans. Monitor sales metrics and performance indicators to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Customer Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and partners. Understand their needs and preferences to deliver tailored solutions and exceed expectations. Ensure data is recorded effectively and efficiently.
Product Knowledge and Promotion: Stay updated on product features, benefits, and competitive advantages. Effectively communicate product value propositions to customers and support marketing efforts to drive awareness and demand.
Sales Process Optimisation: Continuously evaluate and improve sales processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Implement best practices and leverage technology to streamline operations and maximise productivity.
Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including Recruitment, finance, and marketing, to align sales efforts with overall business objectives. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on sales performance, initiatives, and challenges.
Market Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for growth and differentiation. To inform strategic decision-making, stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and customer preferences.
Commission reports: Work with the finance and operations teams to produce, monitor and approve monthly commission reports across the sales department and uphold 100% accuracy and punctuality.
To develop future managers and leaders: To grow the current team structure to include a Recruitment Manager, Client Success Manager and the Head of Partnerships.
ROI: To measure and analyse ROI on all marketing activity to produce reports and support data-driven decisions.
Culture: Further develop and maintain the company culture and values of LMP Education.
Additional Responsibilities
You will be managing the Apprenticeship Sales Team to ensure that there is a steady flow of apprenticeship enrolments and candidates available to fulfil our targeted starts in an accurate and timely manner. You will also maintain the highest quality communications and delivering an excellent customer service.
As a senior manager you will work collaboratively with other LMP teams including but not limited to Inspire ATA, LMP Education and Operations teams, ensuring the efficient delivery of integrated administrative tasks. As the Head of Apprenticeship Sales, you must act as an internal advisor in furthering the business objectives by keeping us up to date and current with key sector updates. You will also represent the Apprenticeship sales function within the Strategic Management Team at LMP Group.

Knowledge & experience

  • A strategic business driver who is passionate about building a successful team and who is highly results oriented.
  • Strong sales background with experience in the FE sector in particular Apprenticeships.
  • Experienced in long & mid-term strategies to have an immediate impact on the sales cycle.
  • Natural leader that inspires teams and collaborates cross-functionally.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills, result-oriented
  • You have built national sales teams from scratch.
  • You have managed a sales team of at least 20 people nationally,
  • You have successfully grown revenues by 50% year-on-year in previous roles.
  • You know how to acquire large Enterprise B2B customers and have a track record of this.
  • You have set up sales processes from scratch.
  • You are extremely analytical, and data-driven in your approach to sales.
