Job Requirements / Description

We are seeking skilled and reliable Forklift Truck (FLT) Drivers to join our client based in Halifax, in the warehouse and logistics department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of forklifts and other material handling equipment, ensuring the timely movement of goods and materials within the facility. The role involves working closely with warehouse operatives, stock controllers, and logistics coordinators to ensure smooth warehouse operations.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate Forklift Trucks (Counterbalance): Safely operate forklifts to move, load, and unload goods and materials in a warehouse or storage yard.
  • Transport Materials: Move products from receiving areas to storage locations, production lines, or dispatch areas.
  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, or storage racks.
  • Stock Management: Assist with inventory counts, ensuring accurate documentation and organisation of products.
  • Warehouse Support: Perform general warehouse duties such as picking, packing, and organising goods.
  • Inspect Equipment: Conduct daily checks and routine maintenance on the forklift and report any issues or malfunctions.
  • Adhere to Health & Safety Regulations: Follow all site safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health and safety protocols.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of goods moved and inventory transactions, using warehouse management systems as and when required.



Requirements:

  • Valid FLT License: Must hold a valid and up-to-date FLT certification (RTITB or ITSSAR)
  • Experience: Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution environment.
  • Physical Fitness: Ability to lift heavy items and work in fast-paced conditions.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and safety.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work well within a team and communicate clearly with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Experience with different types of forklifts (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems or inventory software.
  • Knowledge of safe loading practices and procedures.

Working hours

12 hour continental shifts, days & nights (Including weekends)

4 week rota shift pattern to follow

Salary

Days: 12.51

Nights: 16.64
