About the school:

Our school is a vibrant, inclusive community where every child is given the tools to succeed, no matter the challenges they face. With a strong commitment to emotional and behavioral support, we empower students to achieve their best, fostering resilience and confidence through personalized support. Our school’s ethos is grounded in respect, empathy, and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child. As an SEN TA with a specialism in managing challenging behaviors, you’ll be a core member of our support team, working closely with dedicated professionals who share your commitment to transformative education.

About the role:

In this role, you will support Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils with behavioral and social needs, employing a compassionate and adaptive approach to help each student navigate their unique learning journey. Every day will bring new opportunities to build trust, resilience, and a sense of achievement in the students you support. Working alongside teachers and SEN professionals, you’ll design and implement individual behavior plans, providing guidance and strategies that align with each child’s specific needs.

Your ability to remain calm under pressure and maintain a positive outlook will be essential as you work through challenges and celebrate successes with your students. You will receive training tailored to the role and enjoy the backing of a school that values your personal development as much as the academic and emotional growth of its students.

Application Requirements:

• Previous experience working with children with challenging behaviors, ideally in a school setting. • Strong understanding of behavioral support strategies and interventions. • Excellent communication skills for liaising with students, staff, and parents. • Patience, resilience, and a positive mindset in the face of challenges. • A proactive approach and the ability to remain flexible, adjusting strategies to meet students’ changing needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored support to students in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 with challenging behaviors. • Implement individual behavior plans, adapting them as necessary to suit students’ evolving needs. • Collaborate closely with teachers, SEN coordinators, and other support staff to ensure a holistic approach to each student’s development. • Offer emotional and academic encouragement, helping students recognize and build upon their strengths. • Keep accurate, detailed records of student progress, behavior, and achievements to inform ongoing support.

Perks and Benefits:

Joining our team means being part of a supportive school that believes in taking care of its staff. In addition to a competitive daily rate of £85-£100, you’ll benefit from ongoing professional development, a welcoming and collaborative team culture, and access to modern resources to support you in your role. Our location in Cheshunt offers excellent transport links for an easy commute. This is an inspiring opportunity to grow professionally while making a real difference in the lives of young learners.
