Data Operations Manager - Global Hedge Fund - Large comp package

Our client, a market leading global hedge fund, are looking to hire a Data Operations Manager into their rapidly expanding global data management team. This newly created hire will report to the Global Head of Data, sitting in a highly visible & autonomous seat, facing off to the front office, technology teams and the data vendor team. The hire will run data onboarding, analysis and quality management for large datasets being brought onto the fund’s platform + he/she will have oversight of how the data is broken down as it is transmitted through the data pipeline, through to the investment team. The remit includes working to understand the needs of the internal data management frameworks + using technical skills to analyse new datasets, improve data quality by performing root cause analysis, taking on projects to improve the function of data pipelines, overseeing processing and support of data users internally & working with the technology team to ensure that the correct adjustments are made to streamline transmission and improve data governance processes. The hire will have the potential to manage a small team in this space in the future.The ideal candidate will have 3 – 7 years of relevant experience, in a Data Analyst / Data operations / Data Quality focused role, at a bank, buy-side or a data vendor. Candidates must have an excellent academic profile + coding skills, ideally in python, however Matlab, R, SQL and/or VBA would also be of interest. This is a business critical hire, so our client is committed to offering the successful candidate a strong increase on his/her current base and a year one target bonus range that will make up a large % of that base number. The firm also offer a fantastic benefits. Whilst the hire should expect to work a 5 day office week initial, it will be possible to WFH 1-2 days per week once established.
