Role: Business Development Manager Location: Central North Region £35,000 to £40,000 Quarterly bonus Company car To attend an onsite sales meet in Winchester every 6 weeks A full time & permanent role Summary The Business Development Manager is responsible for driving sales activities in their allocated region, whilst collaborating with colleagues to promote excellent team performance. You are hardworking and determined and draw upon previous experience to expertly negotiate and close sales with current and new trade partners. You communicate a passion for the company and product and are confident devising effective strategies to support and grow partners within your region. You are a natural people person, able to quickly build trusting and lasting relationships with others; your ability to understand partners' needs, and to deliver upon them, drives growth. You are organised in your work, confidently balancing multiple responsibilities without compromising on the quality of service offered. Familiarity within the industry is preferred, allowing you to share your expertise with others through the provision of training sessions, and respond to queries. Previous experience within this type of role or similar is required. Key Responsibilities: Drive sales volume and revenue within your assigned region. Maintain and grow the region by identifying and attracting new trade partners, positively promoting our products, and our values. Develop trusting and lasting relationships with new trade partners, becoming their key point of contact for the company. Maintain and strengthen existing relationships with current trade partners through excellence of service, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction with products and services. Offer tailored marketing and sales advice to current trade partners. Upsell products. Cross sell products. Offer promotional deals. Negotiate contracts. Identify and secure new business opportunities within the trade supplier sector and develop a pipeline of opportunities. Prospecting. Cold calling. Networking. Attending industry events. Leveraging online platforms to generate leads. 3. Support existing trade and franchise partners. Support the development and growth of trade and franchise partners through offering business and technical support. Plan and prioritise sales activities, and regularly review and report on sales performance against targets. Collaborate with other Business Development Managers Communicate effectively with internal teams to ensure customer requirements are met. Share new and relevant knowledge with team members to promote excellent performance. Attend trade shows and industry events to promote the company's products and services. Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, technical advancements and customer preferences in the trade in the industry and share this knowledge with the internal team. Provide in-house training on products and processes. Provide on-site training on installations and surveys. Assist partners in getting up-to-speed with new products. Resolving product-related queries and issues Advise on the correct product to use in any given circumstance. Provision of training Resolve any flagged issues with products, identifying areas for improvement. Keep abreast of market trends, competitor activities, technical advancements and customer preferences in the trade in the industry and share this knowledge with the internal team. Liaise between partners and Head Office. Essential Proven track record of negotiating and closing sales. Proven ability to quickly build lasting relationships founded on excellence of service and trust. A personable and professional communicator, confident using all mediums of communication. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues to boost performance, but equally confident working independently. Passionate about the product and company, with an ability to communicate your enthusiasm effectively to others in order to drive sales. Highly organised, with excellent time management skills. Proven ability to maintain a methodical approach under pressure. An analytical thinker who approaches challenges and tasks strategically, dealing with them proactively and professionally.
