Accounts Assistant

An exciting opportunity has arisen with our client, a large well-established business now expanding their finance team in South Leeds, who seek to appoint an experienced Accounts Assistant with ambitions of qualifying as a management accountant. For the day-to-day you will ensure that records of all financial transactions, payments to suppliers, expenses, bank reconciliations and cash payments / receipts are accurately inputted and properly maintained in a timely manner in order to meet internal and external audit requirements. The ideal Accounts Assistant for this role will be already studying for a recognised accountancy qualification and have experience assisting with the preparation of monthly and year end management accounts. There will be occasional other Accounts Assistant style duties as required. Accounts Assistant - Role and Responsibilities - Assistant Management Accountant / Finance Control / Accounting * Authorise and record purchase invoices, credits and payments * Place purchase orders * Keep bank account records up-to-date on a daily basis. * Reconcile bank account records, statements from suppliers and direct debit payment requests. * Recording, reconciling and issuing expense claims and payments. * Assisting with the preparation of monthly management accounts Accounts Assistant - Skills and Abilities - Assistant Management Accountant / Finance Control / Accounting * Good general accounting knowledge * Great attention to detail and communication skills * Studying toward a recognised accounting qualification * Previous experience preparing monthly and year end management accounts Accounts Assistant / Assistant Management Accountant / Finance Control / Accounting Please note that full training on systems will be provided.
