Prospero Teaching are seeking dedicated and experienced SEN Primary Class Teachers to join an outstanding SEN school in South West London, SW16. This school specialises in providing education and support to primary-aged pupils with a primary or secondary diagnosis of Autism (ASD), many of whom are non-verbal and require assistance with both their learning and daily life tasks. **The school accept applicants who are SEN Teachers, Secondary Teachers and Mainstream Teachers** Position: SEN Primary Class Teacher Class size: 8 pupils max Classroom support: 3 Teaching Assistant's per class Location: South West London, SW16 School: Ofsted 'Outstanding' SEN School Start Date: September 2024 Full Time: 5 days per week Hours: 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Salary: Paid to scale Location: Streatham, South West London, SW16. Contract Type: Temporary with the opportunity to go permanent About the School: Ofsted Rating: Outstanding Pupil Age Range: Primary Specialism: Autism (ASD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), Severe Learning Difficulties Key Responsibilities: Plan and deliver tailored lessons to meet the individual needs of non-verbal pupils with Autism. Provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment. Collaborate with teaching assistants and other support staff to ensure each pupil's educational and developmental needs are met. Monitor and assess pupil progress, adjusting teaching strategies as needed. Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience in teaching primary-aged children. Experience working with children with special needs, particularly those with ASD, PMLD, and severe learning difficulties. A proactive and empathetic approach to teaching pupils with SEN. Strong communication and teamwork skills. An understanding of the challenges faced by children with Autism and severe learning difficulties, and a commitment to supporting their development.
