Warehouse Team Leader

PLEASE NOTE THE WORKING ENVIROMENT FOR THIS ROLE IS IN A CHILLED ENVIROMENT. TEMPERATURES RANGE BETWEEN 3-5 DEGREES.

Location: Waltham Cross, Herts
Contract Type: Permanent
Shift: 5 over 7 shift pattern (Including Sunday working), 45 hours per week.
Shift Times: Available set shift 1pm-10pm (Flexibility may be required at times)
Salary Range: 29,500- 36,500 (pending on experience)

We have an immediate requirement for a Warehouse Team Leader, for our National Distribution Centre in Waltham Cross.

The Team leaders are responsible for being the first point of call on the shop floor to support the Warehouse Operation. Leading and managing teams of 20+ Operatives at any one-time providing cover for the multi-functions of the Warehouse and driving their teams forward to success, ensuring KPIs and service levels are delivered.

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Manage all warehouse operations, including the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials and products, to ensure optimal efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control processes to monitor stock levels, conduct regular stock checks, and minimise discrepancies.
  • Supervise and motivate a team of warehouse staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure a safe and compliant working environment by implementing health and safety protocols and adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the quality control team to maintain the quality standards of our products, ensuring accurate picking and packing.
  • Oversee the maintenance of warehouse equipment, including forklifts and storage systems, to guarantee efficient and safe operation.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on inventory, operational efficiency, and other relevant metrics to support decision-making.
  • Manage the warehouse budget effectively and seek opportunities for cost-saving measures.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance warehouse efficiency and reduce waste.

To be successful in your application, you will need to be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in a Chilled FMCG environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management software and MS Office applications.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
