Director of Data

A unicorn B2B SaaS company is looking for a Director of Data (Engineering & Insights) Having raised over $300m in funding and with a valuation exceeding $1.5bn, you're likely familiar with the brand and may already be using them in your tech stack Salary : up to ~£180k (+ 20% bonus) Location : fully remote anywhere in the UK (with monthly/quarterly office visits) This is a very high-profile hire for the business, playing an integral part in managing and expanding the company's internal data engineering capabilities, enhancing their data infrastructure and supporting various business units with robust data solutions. You'll start with managing an initial team of 12-15 (mix of Data Engineers, Analysts and Architects), but that is likely to double over time. ✅ Must have requirements: Background in data engineering, architecture and infrastructure before moving into leadership. Deep understanding of data engineering concepts and technologies, including data warehousing, ETL processes and cloud platforms. Experience acting as a technical authority, leading high-profile projects, at scale. Extensive team leadership experience, including managing managers. Experience working in ambiguous environments - either greenfield or brownfield - with a proven track record of designing solutions and guiding your teams through the implementation, whilst getting buy in from the business. Knowledge of data governance, data operations and compliance standards. Excellent communications skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse and non-technical stakeholders. Extensive stakeholder management experience, with a proven track record of implementing strategies, coming up with technical roadmaps and promoting agendas across the business.
