The Role Within Customer Operations, our Logistics team plays a critical role in ensuring both our internal team and LSP providers deliver high standards of service to our Brewery and customer operations. In this role, you will be responsible for planning, managing and improving the provision of services to Beavertown’s regional trade customers, across Secondary distribution resources. Our success will be measured by the effectiveness of fleet efficiency, the quality of customer experience, the safety of routes for drivers, the performance of supporting LSPs, and ensuring that the company complies with government legislation. What You’ll Be Doing Distribution Responsible for the short-term planning cycle, including definition of latest estimate budget targets and capacity, and resource planning to fulfil demand. Secure logistical operational performance from end to end perspective by booking optimal transport solutions under the consideration of Beavertown stakeholder preconditions. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (i.e. customers, suppliers, carriers, etc.) to solve operational deviations and search for solutions to avoid them in the future. Create daily transport routings to deliver high levels of customer service. Responsible for route efficiency, leading review of process and compliance to optimise van schedules and any LSP usage. Monitor and manage day to day performance of LSP services to agreed SLAs, including collection times and OTIF performance. Successfully deliver operational performance to agreed KPI targets. Ensure any transport issues arising from customer and drivers are resolved in a timely manner. Ensure that empty kegs are collected from venues. Population and publication of distribution metric dashboard showing departmental performance. Distribution Staff Line management, development and mentoring of drivers. Define standards of adherence for drivers to meet, support this through training and clear representation of departmental / business values for them to identify with. Ensure drivers are trained in and following Ways of Working (WoW). Monitor driver performance & lead driver assessment programme. Fleet Ensure the Beavertown fleet is road legal and available to meet customer requirements. Ensure vehicle defects are documented and resolved in a timely manner, escalating any issues to the Transport Operations Manager. Document vehicle mileage, monitoring against contractual agreements. Ensure MOTs and service schedules are planned, up to date and completed. Compliance Accurately gather and compile sustainability data, ensuring it aligns with our organizational goals and reporting standards to support our commitment to a greener future. Monitor and enforce LSP adherence to company policies and processes, driving a culture of accountability and excellence in service delivery. Foster a culture of safety by proactively identifying and addressing potential risks or unsafe behaviours, ensuring a secure workplace for all. Review invoices to ensure they are accurate and compliant with contractual agreements, taking prompt action to resolve any discrepancies. Timeous and accurate capturing of tracking/performance data Health & Safety Ensure that secondary distribution is operated in a manner compliant with Beavertown’s H&S policies and WoW. Raise and assist distribution team with near miss reporting.
