We are looking for an Engineering Manager on behalf of our client, a global organisation with UK facilities, to oversee and control effective site operations and maintenance at their North East sites.
This permanent opportunity requires an enthusiastic leader with strong coaching and managerial skills to ensure operating and maintenance procedures are implemented, with EHS being a team focus and driving force behind continuous development and improvement.
A Chartered Engineer (or working towards chartered status), with a degree level education, you will have industry appropriate experience within a chemical/process environment.

- Ensuring policy and strategy complies with legislation, EHS, quality and reliability requirements across all processes
- Managing team performance, training and development whilst maintaining motivation and ensuring appropriate attendance and overtime
- Overseeing project costs and escalating potential overspends, ensuring departments remain responsible for budgets
- Promoting and fostering strong internal and external relationships
Additional key requirements:
- Experience in project management using AutoCAD, workshop refrigeration and fabrication
- Legislative knowledge of PUWER & ATEX directives, pressure equipment and pollution control
- To understand key site operations and have full knowledge of statutory health and safety requirements and risk assessment processes
- Local exhaust ventilation design and performance criteria
- Agility to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
