Job Title:           Facilities Manager

Location:           Hillingdon Manor School, Uxbridge

Salary:               up to £49,000 per annum dependent on experience

Hours:               38.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 

Contract:           Permanent, 52 Weeks

About the role

The role of the Facilities Manager has been adapted to meet the demand following continued growth in our services, which now stands at four sites across four locations. Our schools are in Hillingdon, Yiewsley, Slough and Hounslow. 

The Facilities Manager will report to the senior leadership team and will contribute to the growth and development of the service. Accountable for the delivery of quality, efficient, collaborative support services to the Education team. This role will be responsible for the management of all our sites and hold direct line management responsibility of all facilities staff members across the sites. 

The Facilities Manger will have line management responsibility for delivery of:

  • Repairs and Maintenance
  • Catering
  • Housekeeping
  • Front of House
  • Site Safety and Compliance
  • Fleet Management

 The Facilities Manager will be accountable for site safety, health and environmental compliance and will support the senior leadership team in the continued development of best process and policy.

 General Responsibilities:

  • To be responsible for the provision of a safe, secure, well presented environment to our pupils and young people, staff, parents and other stakeholders.
  • To be responsible for ensuring operational compliance with all necessary standards and legislation within the facilities teams remit.
  • To be responsible for the procurement and management of third party contracted services.
  • To be responsible for ensuring a comprehensive preventative planned maintenance programme is undertaken.
  • To be responsible for the financial performance of the facilities team, including supporting the senior leadership team with the development of operational and capital budgets. 
  • To be responsible for the delivery of an effective house-keeping service to meet the needs of the pupils and young people at School.
  • To support the senior leadership team in the identification and development of procedural and investment opportunities for growth.
  • To support the operational teams in the delivery of an outstanding provision. 

Qualifications, Experience and Key Skills

  • Must hold a valid UK driving licence.  
  • Previous multi-building Facilities Management experience. 
  • Relevant professional qualification or membership of a professional body (desirable). 
  • Comprehensive experience of Risk Assessment and Health and Safety Management covering such areas as Managing Contractors, Fire Safety and COSHH regulations. 
  • Strong project management skills, including liaising with statutory authorities.
  • Good inter-personal skills to maintain good relationships with the local community, statutory authorities, contractors and staff.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of current building regulations
  • Competent in the use of MS Office including Word, Excel and Outlook

At Hillingdon Manor, we provide specialist education for 185 pupils, aged between 3.5 and 19. Located across two sites. Our Secondary School supports around 125 pupils. Our pupils are taught in smaller class sizes and all pupils work towards a variety of qualifications dependent on their needs and ability.

For over 16 years Options Autism have provided care and education to pupils, young people and adults with autism, complex needs and learning difficulties. We are a leading provider of education for neurodivergent young people and young adults.
