Principal Hydrologist

Neo Environmental, an award-winning planning and environmental consultancy, have an exciting opportunity for a Senior/Principal Hydrologist to be based out of our Warrington, Bristol, Glasgow or Ballymena office and work on a broad variety of projects. The position will offer the right individual the opportunity to work for a well-established and growing planning and environmental consultancy.The successful candidate will work on projects including residential schemes, infrastructure and energy projects. The ideal candidate will be able to work with a high degree of independence as well as in teams. The role will ideally suit an individual with significant hydraulic modelling experience.Duties Management and delivery of Flood Risk Assessment, SuDs schemes, etc.Conducting hydraulic modelling and producing associated reportsWorking as part of a multi-disciplinary teamOrganising and conducting site visits, attending team and client meetingsUndertaking extensive modelling work and report writingEssential Criteria Relevant hydrology qualification as well as being chartered or working towards chartership (preferably ICE)Experience completing Flood Risk Assessments, Surface Water Management Plans and Hydraulic Modelling using Flood Modeller Pro, HEC-RAS, or similar programmeDemonstrable experience of the successful delivery of hydrology reportsGood knowledge and understanding of UK legislationThe successful candidate will be required to produce reports for clients and so attention to detail, reliability, and good organisational skills are essential.Experienced in GIS and other software packagesFull driving license Desirable Criteria Master’s degree relevant to hydrologyExperience in peat stability and related assessmentsStrong scientific and engineering knowledge in relation to hydrologyTendering/bid preparation experienceProduction of EIA ChaptersNO AGENCIES PLEASE
