Our client is a distinguished distributor at the forefront of the science and industry sector, specialising in components for power electronics, high voltage, and RF applications arena. The company has carved out a significant niche in the high-reliability and high-power density market, offering products across Europe, Asia and North America. The company are in an expansion phase and are looking to hire a new leader for the business.


Our client has a proven track record of delivering high-value technical products, including semiconductors and power rings, to a diverse range of customers across the automotive, renewable energy, and aerospace/defence sectors. Backed by a multimillion-pound turnover and strong profitability, our client is part of a larger engineering firm that is owned by a leading aerospace, defence, and security contractor.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead the P&L management, ensuring financial health and growth.
  • Provide inspirational leadership to both internal and external sales teams.
  • Collaborate directly with customers to develop innovative solutions to their engineering challenges.
  • Offer expertise to support current employees, while recruiting, training, and coaching new team members.
  • Ensure the sales team prioritizes customer needs, while effectively monitoring and managing their performance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans, considering market dynamics and trends.
  • Align our client's market position with strategic goals, identifying and capitalising on long-term opportunities.
  • Create annual orders and shipment plans, maintaining acceptable gross margins.
  • Develop and manage annual budgets and sales targets.
  • Establish an organisational structure that support strategic objectives.
  • Ensure efficient and effective customer service operations.
  • Set and align marketing objectives with strategic goals, ensuring timely and effective execution.
  • Implement, develop, and maintain robust sales management processes.
  • Monitor sales activity levels to ensure targets are met.
  • Maintain and strengthen relationships with key Principals and customers through regular visits.
  • Continuously monitor and enhance quality processes that drive business success.
  • Develop and communicate insights on key power markets to senior management.


Skills / Experience / Qualifications


  • Extensive experience and passionate about Power Electronics.
  • Preferably from a technical background. Relevant degree in Business Administration or Engineering preferred.
  • Experience in the Electronics Component distribution business.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English.
  • Passionate about understanding and meeting customer needs.
  • Proficient in using Excel, Word, and CRM systems.
  • Open to learning and adapting to new technologies and methods.
  • Effective in training and developing team members.
  • Confident in decision-making and able to assertively say “no” when necessary.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high standards.
  • Strong logical thinking and analytical skills.
  • Warm and outgoing personality, able to engage effectively with team members and clients.


This role is crucial for driving the growth and success of our client, requiring a dynamic leader with a strong background in electronics component distribution and sales management
