We are seeking to appoint a HR Manager to join our dedicated team in Blackpool.

The focus of this role is to provide Human Resources support across all levels of the organisation.


KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • CIPD Level 5 qualified or Chartered MCIPD (desirable)
  • Minimum of 5 years’ HR experience (essential)
  • Proven background as an HR professional working with senior management stakeholders, with demonstrable experience building trusted relationships at this level, ideally within a multi-site and global business.
  • A HR generalist with hands-on experience covering topics such as employee relations, policy review, business partnering, reward, culture, diversity and inclusion.
  • A self-starter, able to plan and prioritise your own workload in a fast-paced environment.
  • Organised, commercially savvy with a data-driven approach.
  • Knowledge of and experience in the application of UK employment law
  • Experience working across different international jurisdictions is desirable.
  • Commercial acumen
  • Some experience delivering initiatives and programmes.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Support the company wide development and maintenance of career pathway documentation.
  • Oversee and manage all employee relations issues in the business, escalating the Head of Global HR where required.
  • Devise and maintain processes and procedures for all ER processes, to be implemented across the business.
  • Support the Head of Global HR with policy writing and maintaining the UK employee handbook.
  • Support the Head of Global HR in the development of a HR function outside of the UK.
  • Support the Recruitment Manager where necessary in all recruiting activities and ensure a joined-up approach.
  • Think creatively about how to maintain staffing levels across multiple research sites and supportive services.
  • Oversee absence management including holidays and sickness reporting.
  • Oversee the collation and submission of relevant information to Finance department for payroll on a monthly basis, including new starter documents, sickness, unpaid leave, job changes, leavers, etc.
  • Deliver training to Line Managers on HR related processes as required.
  • Build relationships and networks with external contacts.
  • Scribe, advise and support Line Managers during formal meetings, where required.
  • Mentoring of more junior members of the HR department, providing training and guidance.
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality and sensitivity in dealing with all issues especially when handling sensitive situations and information.
  • Contribute to the creation of solutions to improve and standardise the HR service by identifying and recommending opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to developing employee satisfaction and retention schemes.
  • Manage Exit Surveys and arrange Exit interviews where requested. Provide reports to Leadership team on a bimonthly basis.
  • Manage the Mental Health Initiative Group withing the organisation.
  • Administrate and advise on Vitality Private Medical Scheme.
  • Manage leavers and all maternity/paternity in the business.
  • Support with management of Sage and any queries that come from the business about it.

Planning, Organising and Administration:

  • Report and update relevant issues to the Head of Global HR
  • Assist the Medical Director with the administration of medical revalidation and pre-employment checks for new doctors, such as reference requests, tracking appraisals and keeping files up to date throughout their employment with MAC.
  • Assist with medical appraisal audits.
  • Oversee the administration of HR-related documentation, such as contracts of employments and letters to employees as required; following up to ensure all paperwork is received back in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the management of all regulatory and legislative compliance checks for all new employees, including oversight of SMS system regarding visas.
  • Provide guidance on all HR processes and policies.
  • Ensure all contractual terms are accurate and up to date to minimise risks to the Company.
