TeacherActive are recruiting for a strong outreach Teacher in the North London area. The Outreach Maths Teacher will provide one-on-one teaching for pupils who are medically unable to attend mainstream education. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality Maths education tailored to the needs of each individual pupil in their home environment or working with small groups of pupils in a local library or school site. Key Responsibilities: · Deliver tailored Maths lessons to pupils in their homes, ensuring content is engaging and adapted to individual learning needs and medical circumstances. · Assess pupil needs and create personalised lesson plans in line with the national curriculum, while also accommodating each pupil’s specific medical condition and learning pace. · Monitor and report on pupil progress, regularly updating school staff and parents/guardians · Maintain accurate records of lesson plans, attendance, and pupil progress. · Liaise with medical professionals if requested, parents, and the school to ensure that teaching aligns with any health plans or medical considerations. · Collaborate with other outreach teachers, SENCO, and the wider school staff to ensure continuity of learning for each pupil. · Adapt teaching techniques to use a variety of learning resources to support engagement and understanding. · Promote confidence and enthusiasm for learning Maths, helping pupils to stay motivated despite challenging circumstances. · Encourage pupil reintegration into mainstream education or Meadway when appropriate, providing support during transitions. · Attend regular training sessions to stay informed on best practices for working with pupils with medical needs and SEND. Qualifications: · Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent · Degree in Mathematics or a related subject · SEND training or experience working with pupils with additional needs (desirable) Experience: · Proven experience teaching Maths, preferably across a range of key stages (KS2-KS4). · Experience working with pupils who have medical needs or special educational needs (SEND). · Familiarity with creating and adapting lesson plans to suit individual pupil requirements. · Experience in a home tutoring or outreach teaching role (preferred).
