We’re looking for an enthusiastic Clinical Research Physician to join our highly experienced and dedicated team at our Early Phase Unit in Manchester working in early phase drug development/clinical pharmacology. You’ll need to have 3-4 years of post-graduation experience, have a genuine interest in working in clinical research and be open to training in a new speciality (Pharmaceutical Medicine). We’re looking for candidates that are enthusiastic, diligent, have a keen eye for the details and will fit in well with a team that enjoys supporting each other in order to meet department goals, targets and furthering drug development. The pace and duties involved in this role means candidates with hospital experience would have an advantage. MAC will provide ALS training and support for post graduate training for candidates who are adept and passionate about pharmaceutical medicine/clinical pharmacology. The focus of this role is to fulfil the role of Sub-Investigator and Principal Investigator in clinical research studies in compliance with the protocol and ICH/GCP. KEY SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED: Full and current GMC registration (essential) 3-4 years post-graduation experience (essential) MRCP /MRCGP (desirable) Pharmaceutical experience 2 years (desirable) Strong interest or experience in psychiatry, neuropsychiatry or neurology (desirable) RESPONSIBILITIES: Clinical Activities including: Fulfil the role of Sub Investigator / Principal Investigator where delegated. Provision of medical care and oversight of clinical trial participants. Ensure trial related procedures are completed in accordance with ICH-GCP guidelines and in compliance with the protocol. physical examinations and other clinical procedures Review medical reports and lab results Participate in site monitoring visits with Clinical Research Associates On-call rota duties MANAGEMENT: Leadership Commercial awareness and contribution to targets Professional development Healthy volunteer and Patient recruitment PHYSICAL, WORK ENVIRONMENT, TRAVEL DEMANDS: Dealing with bodily fluids. Long periods looking at a computer screen. Meeting deadlines and working within strict timelines. Ability to travel between sites if required.
