You are a HR Generalist and crave the variety and diversity that the role brings; you have run several projects and taken ownership of rolling them out. As our Senior HR Advisor you will have the sole responsibility of one site (Bolton), whilst supporting another (Manchester). You’ll enjoy the fast-pace and challenges that manufacturing brings, whilst being empowered and encouraged to ‘get things done’. There is a lot of ‘you’ in that opening statement, that is because as a Senior HR Advisor, you will need to wear many hats. Doing ‘whatever’ it takes to get the job done. Sometimes it’s training, promoting worker safety, facilitating employee engagement and retention, implementing policies and new legislation, sometimes it’s simple admin or complex ER cases. This is an incredibly varied role which will mean making decisions and possibly even making mistakes, we are OK with that, we want to grow and learn together. If we get it right the first time, great, if not, we learn, develop, analyse, and go again. JOB DESCRIPTION: Senior HR Advisor - Manufacturing, Adhesive materials Reporting to the HR Manager, this Senior HR Advisor role has the sole responsibility for our Bolton location, although your time will be split across this and our Manchester site (probably 4/1 or 3/2). Your primary focus will be on the operational elements and the day-to-day of a fast-paced manufacturing business; we’re a 24/4 operation so from time to time the night shift will need our help as well. Key tasks: · ER Cases – inevitably with circa 200 colleagues across both manufacturing sites these are a challenge, covering absence management, disciplinary, grievances, and more (can be up to 10/15 at any one time). · Liaising with managers and site leads, truly business partnering to ensure they are aware and comfortable with the HR policies and procedures. · Update and maintain HR trackers and data (this is currently in Excel but a new HR system is on the way). · Project work – looking for incentives / strategies that can impact / improve the employee journey and well-being. · Collaborate with managers and senior leaders to assess training needs and design a customised development program that aligns with organisational goals and employee growth. PERSON SPECIFICATION: Senior HR Advisor - Manufacturing- Adhesive materials Having got this far hopefully we have outlined that this is really a hands-on, operational Senior HR Advisor role. You’re an experienced HR professional, you’re robust, resilient and someone who knows how to spin lots of plates, and thrives in that environment with enthusiasm. Having done that before is great, having the belief, willingness and readiness to do it with us, is just as intriguing. Ideally, you will have: · CIPD Level 5 (or equivalent as a minimum) · Operated in a manufacturing business (e.g. food, textiles, chemical, automotive) with 100+ employees and an understanding of challenges within this sector. · The ability to switch from creating an employee contract to presenting in a SLT team meeting. · A proven track record in owning and delivering on a variety of HR projects · A business partnering, people-first approach to HR. · Experience with unionised sites (GMB / Unite preferred) THE COMPANY: As part of a Global billion-dollar business, our reach spans 5 continents.
