From a stock system used by the NHS, a Chrome Extension for Branston Pickle to visualising $13B in research grant funding for Oxford University our work is varied and challenging in equal measure.
We’re seeking a Lead Laravel / PHP Developer with 4+ years solid Laravel experience to steer our growing team of passionate programmers. This is a unique opportunity as the role has the potential for career progression to a brand new position of Technical Director with responsibility for overseeing and steering the technical direction of the agency as a whole.
What the job involves
- Developing and maintaining web applications using the Laravel Framework
- Contributing to project planning, scoping, specifications and estimates
- Handling or delegating client support requests as appropriate
- Delivering on multiple, concurrent projects
- Mentoring and managing two junior/mid-level developers
You have
- Excellent knowledge of the Laravel framework and ecosystem
- Experience writing DRY, well structured, clean and elegant code
- Strong JavaScript skills and experience with frameworks
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL database design and development
- Familiarity with Linux shell
- Excellent attention to detail and a thorough approach to testing
- Ability to thrive in a sometimes fast-paced agency environment with demanding clients
- Ability to work efficiently by prioritising what's important without cutting corners
- Superb written and verbal communication skills, confident speaking with clients and stakeholders
- Familiarity with Git
- Familiarity with Mac OS
- Enthusiasm to work in a small and relatively flat team and make a difference
