Lab Technician

Job title: Lab Technician Job Type: Contract Start date: ASAP - Subject to clearance Duration: 12 months Salary: Competitive Location: Thurso Hours of work: 37 hours per week Applicants must have experience of the following: - Ability to gain SC clearance - HND in science or equivalent plus relevant working experience - Considerable analytic laboratory experience - Relevant radiochemical and chemical knowledge - Strong verbal and written communication skills Role information: - Ensure sample preparation, routine analysis and reporting is undertaken and delivered for regulatory and project decommissioning analysis - Identify and rectify constraints to minimise delays - Undertake and deliver method development, validation and uncertainty estimation in the laboratory - Prepare and review technical documentation - Develop, maintain and review the chemical support services quality management system - Ensure safety checks are completed and reported - Ensure compliance with ISO 17025, 17020 and maintenance of UKAS accreditation - Provide performance monitoring on internal performance against safety and quality and take remedial action where necessary Interested in this position? please click "apply now" We try to respond to all applicants, but sometimes this is not possible due to high volumes of applications; if you have not heard from us within 14 days, regrettably it means you have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
