Job overviewAn opportunity to join our fantastic Paediatric Capacity Team on a fixed term one year maternity leave cover as arisen. We are looking for an enthusiastic children's nurse to work within the team. Our children's hospital provides care for children as part of secondary and tertiary services. The team comprises of four capacity managers and 2 discharge co-ordinators.The successful candidate will be dynamic, motivated and able to juggle multiple competing priorities. You will have significant clinical experience and be a competent communicator. The successful candidate will be flexible and adaptable as well as being passionate about service improvement.Main duties of the jobThe role of the Patient Capacity Manager is to ensure flow through The Royal London Children's hospital is safe, timely and co-ordinated. This role will work with the Senior Clinical Site Team to ensure the daily operational strategy to support is aligned to maintaining emergency and elective care performance 24/7. Person specificationQualifications Essential criteria Degree or willingness to work towardsNMC Registered Paediatric Nurse with evidence of further professional development Desirable criteria Recognised teaching/ mentorship qualificationExperience Essential criteria Significant post registration experience within an acute paediatric setting.Experience of facilitating clinical decision making and the application of professional judgement in clinical situationsExperience of managerial decision making and the application, of professional judgment in a range of clinical and non-clinical situations.
