Role Overview
Our Clients are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our team, projects valued between £2 million and £15 million. Their head office is based in Northwest London and are actively involved in projects throughout London. In this role, you will support the commercial team in delivering rail projects efficiently, ensuring financial control and timely project completion. Working closely with senior surveyors, you will gain valuable experience in cost management, contract administration, and project budgeting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare tenders, including measurement, packaging, and analysis
  • Prepare and submit variations, valuations, and client quotations
  • Prepare final accounts and ensure timely submission
  • Attend client and site meetings
  • Liaise with site management to monitor progress
  • Assess and manage risks and opportunities
  • Handle cash flow and ensure effective cash management
  • Prepare and submit applications and invoices in line with the client s schedule
  • Effectively utilise a range of Microsoft Office tools for data management
  • Manipulate, manage, and interrogate project data
  • Be fully conversant with the use of the Standard Method of Measurement
  • Demonstrate ownership and commercial awareness in all aspects of the role
  • Exhibit effective time management, organisational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Knowledge of rail or civil engineering projects is desirable, but not essential
