Chief of the Office of Airworthiness (COOA)

We're looking for a proven leader with a strong track record in aircraft certification, ideally with experience in general aviation, small business jets, or rotorcraft. Role Overview: As Chief of the Office of Airworthiness (COOA), you'll oversee all airworthiness approvals for airframe and engine certification, initially in the UK, with global expansion to 50+ countries. This is a leadership role in a dynamic, fast-growing startup, perfect for someone eager to escape the corporate side of aerospace. Key Responsibilities: Lead the airworthiness team, managing aircraft and engine certification programs. Act as Chief of the Office of Airworthiness per UK CAA Part 21J regulations. Manage relationships with regulatory bodies (CAA, FAA, EASA). Ensure the effectiveness of design and production handbooks and procedures. Collaborate with engineering and production teams to execute testing, validation, and certification plans. Provide Part 21 training and advise on safety and airworthiness. Qualifications & Experience: Previous experience as COOA or a senior airworthiness role in an OEM. Expertise in UK CAA and/or EASA Part 21J regulations for aircraft and engine certification.
