Banksman / Forklift Operator Quayside Ad-Hoc

Peterson are looking to take on ad-hoc staff to support demand in activity and cover for periods of annual leave and absence. We are looking for flexible workers on an as and when basis. To be considered for this role you must have experience in forklift duties and/or banksman slinger (Opito).

Job Description

Duties include receiving goods in and checking materials; preparing, loading and shipping outbound cargo; unloading containers and preparing equipment for backload to vendors; general yard work including slinging/bundling pipe; various crane and FLT duties and general warehouse and yard tidiness. Compliance with procedures regarding the loading and unloading of trailers. Ensure effective communication with Line Supervisor. Assist with the backload cargo dispatch process, ensuring cargo backload managed and dispatched according to company procedures.

Requirements

Previous knowledge:

RTITB Forklift Driver and/or Opito Banksman

Experience of cargo operations, loading / unloading of trailers. Previous experience and forklift licence up to 16 tonne, Banksman Slinger preferred but not essential.

Safety awareness

Basic computer knowledge although training will be giving
