Job Description

Why we are hiring for this role:

We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join our mighty but small team of client success, marketers, and brilliant business folks. This isn’t a traditional sales role. We are seeking someone that can partner with our customers from first conversation, through to deal close and ultimately to revenue-generating live events. We are seeking someone that understands the complex world of event and group hotel booking and can deeply empathise with our prospects pain points.

With this role you’ll get in at the ground floor in a fast growing commercial organisation. You’ll drive meaningful relationships that add value to the customer experience and revenue to our bottom line.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Full cycle partnering working with prospects from first conversation, through to deal close and ultimately to revenue-generating live events. This is a partnering role, which is equally about signing the right deals but also teeing up high quality, successful live events that drive maximum revenue for both the customer and us.
  • Generate qualified pipeline opportunities from your segment through a mix of signal-based selling and referrals. This includes working through a diverse set of outbound channels
  • Execute a disciplined partnering/sales process to achieve the right velocity KPI (aka sales cycle length, average deal size, number of opportunities and win rate)
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers to drive referrals and expansion opportunities
  • Effectively manage leads and opportunities through HubSpot, ensuring accurate data entry, regular updates, and timely follow-ups to maintain an organised pipeline.
  • Master our ideal customer profile (ICP) and buyer persona characteristics to refine outreach efforts. Work closely with the go-to market manager to refine outreach and messaging strategies.
  • Collaborate with marketing to help refine campaign execution for your segment

Who you are:

  • +6 years working in the event hotel bookings sector, specifically with conferences that attract international audiences. You come from either from the Hotel Group Bookings, Events side or 3rd party planning side.
  • +2 years of sales experience with an ability to lead a multi-party sale in a highly consultative manner.
  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota
  • You get excited about prospecting, and are capable of independently leading a sales cycle from start to finish
  • You enjoy building – you like to actively participate in the development of our sales process, the articulation of our value proposition, and the creation of key tools and assets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively convey complex ideas
  • Sold experience working with a CRM and sales tools
  • High EQ person with a collaborative mindset

  • Talent Screen - 30 mins
  • VP Growth Screen - 45 mins
  • Task - “discovery call” - 45 mins
