The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will play a key part in developing OVO’s advanced ML platform as part of the Machine Learning Team. This team’s goal is to empower the company and its data scientists with superior ML-driven solutions. The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will play an instrumental role in developing and maintaining OVO’s sophisticated ML platform. Your expertise will drive the delivery of innovative AI-powered features, ensuring OVO Energy remains a leader in providing seamless and tailored experiences for their customers. This role is an opportunity to leverage ML for a sustainable future while pushing the boundaries of technology. Building and enhancing the ML platform to enable the smooth operation of ML models • Implementing MLOps best practices to improve the development, deployment and monitoring of ML models (including NLP models and GenAI) • Providing advice and guidance on ML best practices and general software engineering • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to understand their ML needs and implement solutions Gain a comprehensive understanding of OVO’s ML platform and associated ML best practices • Begin collaborating on various projects, providing insight and advice on ML best practices and software engineering guidelines • Contribute to the development and enhancement of the ML platform • Mentor and educate other teams about effective ML practices and MLOps strategies Experience developing ML models and building training/validation/test datasets • Experience in repeatable cloud infrastructure provisioning, configuration management across the MLOps architecture (including CI/CD pipelines) and database systems • Fluency in Python and SQL • Strong understanding of software testing and continuous integration • Proven ability to deliver high-quality data and software engineering projects endto-end, translating into true commercial impact within a business • Exposure to ML methodologies and best practices • Ability to spot opportunities for data and machine learning engineering, and support conversation regarding ‘buy or build your own’ decisions • Enthusiastic about working with different teams and on diverse projects COMPENSATION/BENEFITS: • Competitive salary range of £64K-92k based on experience • On-target bonus of 15% • 34 days holiday including bank holidays • Pension matching up to 5% • Flexible working as standard • Enhanced parental leave policies • 9% cash flex fund which can be used towards a variety of benefits (pension top-up, annual leave top-up, gym memberships, healthcare cash plan, workplace ISA, etc.) • OVO community – opportunities for L&D and community involvement
