Protection & Control Design (CDAE)

Consulting assignment for a P&C Design Engineer (to act as CDAE) for National Grid projects up to and including 400kV. This is a predominately remote opportunity with occasional travel to the Birmingham office, and sits outside IR35.Carrying out the FEED and detail design works including the protection and control aspects of different projects including SLD, KLD, schematics, wiring diagrams, functional specifications, setting reports, coordination and discrimination studies, telecom , network architecture, SCS, cable sizing and voltage drop, LVAC and LVDC load calculations and sizing, and technical specification for P&C equipment, battery and UPS systems.Carry out CDAE for P&C discipline or LCDAE role for National Grid / EPC contractors’ projects as required.Carry out P&C Design Assurance activities as required.Coordination with back office engineers, sub-contractors and suppliers as required.Proven record of ability to manage tender packages preparing P&C aspects of technical offers.Ability to attend and chair the design review and Hazard review meetings and reviewing P&C design packages as required.Communication with commissioning engineers during final installation/commissioning stages of projects, to resolve technical issues.
